Team United - Competitive Leagues - Day 1 Completed

07/10/2024

Hello Everyone,

After the East Event finishing up yesterday, that is all of our Team United Regional League Day 1's finished up. The following is an update for all leagues and some great news across all three events:

  • 6 new teams joined TU and played their first ever Competitive Fixtures!
  • A further 4 Clubs have joined on recently and we look forward to welcoming them at the National Event in May (Penicuik, Hibs Purples, Campsie and Dundee East)
  • Every single team had at least one new player (often more) who integrated with their teammates, potentially playing in an organised football fixture for the first time.
  • Every single team scored across all 3 events!
  • Every single game had a capturable moment of sportsmanship / moments of respect between teammates and opposition alike.
  • Incredible sportsmanship between teams, especially between those who helped the teams who had players missing at each event, a massive thank you to those who helped!!
  • Several incredibly close games, there was a large amount games which either ended in a draw or with only one goal separating the teams – healthy competition!

A reminder that these competitive games are not for everyone and are not mandaory to participate in. Similaraly, whether it be through illness, holidays or just a bad day, not all players can make each event. All of the above is understandbale and never a problem.

A big well done to every single player, whether they attended your event or just attend training, every player plays their part in working as part of the team.

As per Scottish FA guidelines, we do not publish the results of the games and the table. The reasons for this are twofold:

1. We would like to promote participation, enjoyment and the experience of competitng, rather than being results-orientated.

2. We do not want any players who maybe didn't experience the "success" on the pitch that they had desired to be dishearted or humiliated or put off.

If your player is absolutely certain they would like to see a League Table, each coach has been sent this so it can be accessed that way. We encourage all the celebrate the above talking points ahead of league position however.

Parents of the Rangers FC team, the table has been shared with Jordan Boyd.

If you haven't gotten round to it yet please see the following links to our Event Evaluation Surveys, any and all feedback is welcomed and help us provide the best service and experience we can. Thank you in advance.
